Terms and conditions

Terms & Conditions

We accept bookings of our accommodation through our online booking system on the website of La maison des douves. Whenever a booking is made the guest should read, and agree with the terms and conditions as described below in order to complete the online booking.

The Agreement

When an online booking is completed and confirmed the rental agreement has been made between the guest(s) and the hosts of La maison des douves. The rental agreement is a legally binding contract subject to the terms and conditions of booking the accommodation. The guest who completes the online booking must be older than 18 years and agree to the terms and conditions in order to complete the booking. By agreeing the guest is also responsible for other guests who will stay in the accommodation during the booking and needs to make sure everyone is aware of and complies with the terms and conditions.

Payment

Should be completed immediately upon booking the accommodation through the online booking system. Only when a reservation is fully paid for is the booking completed. It will be confirmed by email.

Check-In & Check-Out

Guests are welcome to make use of their booked accommodation starting from 1500 hours on the first day of the booking until 1100 hours on the last day of the booking. Guests will be received in-person and shown around after which guests will receive keys and access to the full accommodation. The check-out is simply completed by dropping the keys in the letterbox before 1100 hours on the last day of the booking.

Cancellations, Changes And Refund Policy

When an online booking is completed and confirmed by the hosts, the guest has entered into a legally binding rental contract of the accommodation. No changes or cancellations can be made by the guests after this point. If guests wish to make changes or cancel their booking they need to contact the hosts in person. The question of whether changes or refunds will be accepted is entirely dependant upon the time available to re-advertise availability. If the accommodation is rebooked for the cancelled period the hosts may refund the amount paid by the guests.

Guests Responsibilities

Guests are responsible for the rented accommodation during their booked period and need to leave the accommodation in a comparable state of repair and condition as they found it. No furniture or other larger items are to be moved. No appliances or items are to be taken away from the property.

Supervising children, babies or any person requiring care is the responsibility of the guests at all times. The hosts cannot be held responsible for events or accidents that happen due to neglect of these responsibilities.

Guests are responsible for taking their belongings at the end of their booking. The hosts will make every effort to return items, but any costs that are incurred will be the responsibility of the guest.

Use Of The Accommodation

The number of guests that use the property during the booked period is not allowed to exceed the number stated in the booking agreement. If further guests or visitors arrive during the stay, the guest is responsible for notifying the hosts after which they may charge further costs.

The accommodation may only be used for personal and domestic purposes. No commercial use of the accommodation is allowed without the consent of the hosts.

Pets
No pets are allowed, unless by very specific arrangement with the hosts.

Smoking
Smoking is not permitted inside the property for the duration of the booking.  Further costs may be incurred if this is found not to be the case.

Damage, Loss & Theft

Guests are responsible for reporting any damage to or loss of furniture, appliances or any equipment that belongs to the accommodation. The hosts may charge extra costs to repair any damage or loss that goes beyond the normal wear of the accommodation. These extra costs can be incurred for, but are not limited to, cleaning of furnishings, replacing towels, bedding, keys and equipment that have been lost or damaged beyond normal wear. Furthermore, the hosts have the right to refuse any further bookings as a result of damage to the accommodation during the previous booking.

Cancellation By The Hosts

The hosts reserve the right to cancel any booking made online when the property is somehow unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances such as a flood or fire or for any other reason. In case of cancellation by the hosts, the guest will receive a full refund of the booking.

Liability

The hosts are not responsible for any material loss, damage, additional expense or inconvenience that is caused directly or indirectly by using the accommodation. This does not exclude or limit the liability of the hosts, however, by law for anything caused by negligence or fraudulent misrepresentation.

The hosts are not responsible for any loss or damage to property such as vehicles, vehicle contents or personal belongings of the guests or accompanying guests or visitors during the booking.

The maximum liability accepted by the hosts will be the complete costs of the booking as paid by the guests to the hosts. Other expenses such as travelling costs or replacing accommodation are not accepted.
